In the series of monotype/collages, entitled, Anybody?, the figure disappears into an alternate world, leaving traces of sensory earthly contact-hands and ears, ink and paper-and questions about the impermanent nature of human existence.
Early Hubble silver halide photographs, Andy Warhol’s oxidation paintings, the ghostly figures of Gary Hall, Byzantine icons, the Etruscan sculpture Shadow of the Night, Jung’s theories of shadow, passages from the Tao Te Ching, and Buddhist concepts of impermanence and emptiness inspire this work.
